6th May 2008 Site back on track Hey folks.
We've had a bit of trouble with the site these past few weeks but we're back in business now. We've been busy playing the 2FM 2Moro Tour and opening for We Are Scientists all over the country throughout April. We had such fun doing all the shows and thanks to everyone who came to any of the shows and who are now fully paid up Boss Volenti-ites. Thanks to We Are Scientists, The Coronas and Juno Falls for some good, hard laughter and fun times.
Also, we now have a mailing list on the homepage, so make sure you sign up if you haven't already... ---------------------- 3rd April 2008 BOSS VOLENTI open for WE ARE SCIENTISTS next week It's short notice, we know....
Boss Volenti have just been kindly invited to open for New York band We Are Scientists
on their Irish dates next week.
We are totally excited about this, as we are great admirers of We Are Scientists and
it's definitely a receipe for a great night out!
The dates are as follows...
Monday April 7th - Dublin, Ambassador Theatre.

Show time for Volenti will probably be 8'clock, so don't be late!!
The unfortunate side of the coin is that we have had to cancel our

The Venue are completely understanding and we are genuinely disappointed
to cancel and let down you folk that were going to make it along.
We have already talked about another date in An Brog over the next while,
and as soon as it's confirmed you will be the first to know.
Talk to yez later. ---------------------- 29th March 2008 Trouble with our website We're having trouble with the Boss Volenti website at the moment, but we're on the case and hopefully will have it sorted as soon as... ---------------------- 27th March 2008 VOLENTI FOR ELECTRIC PICNIC FESTIVAL '08 Hey Folks,

We were not allowed to mention this ahead of our RTE radio appearance yesterday, because they wanted to keep the line-up shrouded in secrecy!!

BV ---------------------- 2nd November 2007 Volenti interview on 'Nightshift' Hi there.
Here's a link to an interview with Rob and Graham that was posted on youtube. It was done before the show at The Village in Dublin a while back.
BV. ---------------------- 21st October 2007 Volenti HQ Hi folks,
We hope you're all keeping good.
Sorry for the lack of news over the last while. Things have been a bit messy keeping our website up to speed with the folk who look after it, but basically we're after getting all the proper codes to take care of it and to update it ourselves. So, 'be expecting to be witnessing all sorts of hijinks over the next while. We're going to be sticking up all sorts of pictures and regular news updates to keep you all up to speed on what's cookin' in the the Volenti camp!
Thank you so much to everyone to came out to our last show at The Village in Dublin. The night was such great fun. We were blown away by the amount of people who came to the show and knew our songs and went crazy!! We sold the venue out, so the only next visable step for Boss Volenti is arenas!!
Which leads to the next point... At the moment we're holed up in Volenti HQ writing, rehearsing and demoing all the new songs we have. At the moment there are about 15/20 songs in the works and the ideas are flowing out. It's totally exciting for us. We seem to spend most of the time laughing at the hilarity of what we are musically coming out with. After playing together for the last couple of years we kinda know instinctually what each of us is going to play next while we are jamming on new ideas, and that's what makes this all so worth while. The songs are sounding pretty off-kilter but yet the melodic streak that went through the first album is most definitely there....
"Hey you're clappin' your hands fo' me" Philo-R.I.P!
In the meantime we are also looking after the administration side of the band, and that keeps us pretty busy. We still do not have a manager and we are also heading to the U.S to play some shows early in 2008, so we are trying to work all of these things out.
We will also be doing some Irish shows before that. We are also working them out at the moment.
I think that sounds like a good chunk of news for now!
Don't forget to visit our my space...we update that as regularly as we can too.
So, call back again soon and we promise to have updates in the news, gigs and gallery sections.
In the meantime, spread the word.

BV ---------------------- 25th August 2007 Electric Picnic 2006 documentary Boss Volenti are featured in a new documentary that has been made about last year's Electric Picnic festival in Ireland.
The Volenti are the only unsigned band shown in full-on live glory, alongside acts such as PJ Harvey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Super Furry Animals, Bloc Party, New Order and many more.
The documentary was premiered this week, on the 23rd of August, at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin. It was directed by Nick Ryan.
We are really happy and honoured to be a part of this film and to be shown alongside such other great bands.
Also, thanks to everyone who came out to see us at our Dublin show last Friday, the 17th. We had so much fun and hope to play in Dublin again asap!

BV ---------------------- 26th July 2007 The Boss on Night Shift, Channel 6, Wed 1st Aug '07 Hello.
Rob and Graham will be appearing on Channel 6's Night Shift this Wednesday 1st Aug. There will be an interview with Michelle followed by a competition to win copies of Volenti's debut album. Later on in the month (closer to the 17th), the gals at Night Shift will also be running a competition to win two pairs of tickets for the Village gig on Fri 17th Aug.
Channel 6's Night Shift can be viewed on regular NTL cable and if you have the Sky Network package, it's on channel 190.
That's it for now. ---------------------- 23rd April 2007 Volenti to feature in Electric Picnic '06 film Hey all,
That near month of lovely weather has seemed to finally dissipate and we're back to regular oul paddy weather here in Dublin.
Oh well...
It's been a while since last we posted, but things have been motoring away in the backround none the less. The best news being that Image Now Films, the production company responsible for the documentary film of The Electric Picnic festival in 2005, were commisioned by Aiken Promotions again to shoot the 2006 festival. Nick Seymour and his camera crew came down to the Big Tree Stage on Saturday night and caught some of the Volenti set. The producers loved it, and our song 'Shot' is to feature in the film. Sweet, huh?
In other news, we have a May bank holiday show in Dundalk's Spirit Store on Sunday 6th. Our friends in music Hoarsebox will be making the trek with us, should be a great night.
So keep checking back with us, there'll be more news soon.
Keep it country,
Boss Volenti. ---------------------- 1st February 2007 Where to get your FREE Volenti single. Hello all,
